THE BLUE TIT
Cyanistes caeruleus
Conservation Status (GREEN)
A colourful mix of blue, yellow, white and green makes the blue tit one of our most attractive and most recognisable garden visitors. Often seen around bird tables and feeders, as well as in woodlands and parks.
Young Blue Tits can easily be told apart, with most of the blue being more subdued and greenish, and the cheeks yellow.
Peanuts and fat balls are the best foods for Blue Tits, especially during the winter. Place feeders close to a hedge, most Blue tit prefer to find the safety of a hedge to eat their food.
